Mike Hersh

My interest in scuba diving began on a trip around Lake Michigan with my family. We took a tour on a glass bottom boat in Munising, MI. I was really impressed after looking at a shipwreck through the glass bottom of the boat. As the boat headed to the second wreck the captain announced that we were going to wait since a group of scuba divers were already on the wreck. That's all it took. As soon as we got home, I was looking for scuba training and thus began my affiliation with The Underwater Connection. After attaining the Master Scuba Diver Rating, I decided to join the Instructor ranks. Combining my job and my passion for scuba diving led me to become a member of the Milwaukee Police Department Dive Team where I actually developed an enjoyment of "black water diving". My retirement from the Police Department at the end of 2006 led to my new career at The Underwater Connection as an instructor, retail specialist, equipment repair technician, and most of all a full time employee in the scuba diving industry.
