TDI/SDI Technical Diving Courses

The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 150 feet. The most common equipment requirements, gear setups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures (including oxygen and nitrox) are presented.

The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 150 feet. The most common equipment requirements, gear setups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures (including oxygen and nitrox) are presented.

 

Prerequisites:
  • Minimum of 25 logged dives or Instructor's discretion
  • TDI Nitrox certification or equivalent
  • 18 years of age
Required Equipment:
  • Scuba cylinder with pony bottle setup for backup or
  • Scuba cylinder with H-valve with redundant regulator or
  • Twin cylinder setup with isolation manifold and two regulators
  • Decompression mix cylinder(s) with complete regulator setups
  • Two complete cold-water ready regulators
  • Depth gauge & automatic bottom timer (or computer)
  • Backup depth gauge/bottom timer (or computer)
  • Exposure suit adequate for the local environment
  • Lift bag and reel (minimum 25 lb. lift bag)
  • Back inflation TECH BC or wings/harness adequate for equipment configuration
  • Access to O2 analyzer
  • Underwater slate w/writing utensil

Note: Cylinders and regulators need to be properly cleaned and labeled as ready for oxygen service.
Course Requirements
  • 6-8 hours classroom time
  • A Minimum of 4 open water dives

 

The TDI Decompression Procedures Program is not for everyone....we do not accept all candidates.
This course is very demanding, and is not for everyone. Be sure you have mastered all the basic scuba skills including hovering/neutral buoyancy. Equipment requirements are also very intensive, and no shortcuts or exceptions will be allowed. Payment for this course does not guarantee certification.
