Sept 13-15, we will be diving at Fortune Pond and in Munising Bay, Michigan - our MOST POPULAR local trip destinations! 

Why is this trip so popular? Fortune Pond is a beautiful crystal clear quarry, which offers excellent shore diving.  A great way to test out your gear, before heading to Lake Superior.  Visibility often ranges from 70-100 feet!!  Our main destination, Munising, sits in a bay, and it is protected from the wind by Grand Island on most days...which makes diving exceptionally easy. The shipwrecks around Munising range in depth from 25ft to about 90ft. And the best thing about diving in Lake Superior - no zebra mussels! You can actually still see the paint on certain parts of the shipwrecks.

If you are looking to complete a PADI course, Fortune Pond & Munising are fantastic places to earn your Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver, Boat Diver, Wreck Diver, Drysuit Diver, or DPV diver certifications!

What else is there to do around Munising? Plenty! We have Picture Rocks National Lakeshore just to the east, numerous waterfalls in the area, good hiking and mountain biking trails, and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum is only 2 hours to the east if you are up for a mini-road trip. Munising offers several good options for dining out...fresh whitefish, slow cooked BBQ, pasties, and ICE CREAM! Too many flavors to try in one weekend...so I guess you'll just have join us up in Munising again and again!
