FAQS - Trips and Events

  • When you plan local dives, is there any cost?
There may be some costs involved with local dives, such as entrance fees or parking. We do not include any rental gear, which can be rented in advance. Keep in mind, though that we do not transport any rental gear to and from the local dives, unless otherwise arranged with the group/outing leader.
  • What about local "fun" dives?
We do plan various dates throughout the spring and summer for local dive outings. These can range from a day at Pearl Lake near South Beloit, Illinois, to weekends at Lake Wazee near Black River Falls, Wreck diving weekends near Munising, Michigan, and Bonne Terre mine near St. Louis. So, even if you can't join us on a tropical vacation, there are still opportunities to dive locally. Check our website or our Facebook page for schedules and more details.
  • Aren't the trips mostly for couples? Will I feel welcome?
In short, yes, many couples join us for our trips, but always remember, you are paying for the trip as well. We welcome first-time travelers who haven't been with us in the past. You'll find that we all just like to dive and have fun!
  • Do you offer any classes on trips?
Absolutely! There is almost always at least one instructor on all our trips, who can conduct courses ranging from Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and many Specialty Diver courses. When we have our pre-trip meeting, we discuss the training options for that particular trip.
  • What about renting gear?
Rental gear is generally available for all our trips. We suggest reserving any gear you may need well in advance of the trip departure. You are welcome to pick up the gear the day before departure so you have enough time to pack and ensure you have everything needed.
  • What about non-divers?
Non-divers are always welcome on our trips! There is typically a reduced price for non-divers, but this can vary by trip. Some destinations will also allow non-divers to join us on the dive boat, but again, this can vary by dive operation.
  • Do I have to be an advanced diver to join one of your trips?
Not necessarily. We have all skill levels of divers on our trips, from newly certified divers through Instructors. We try to advise anyone who is interested in a particular trip what the diving conditions may be like so they can make an informed decision about joining that particular trip.
  • I am a single diver, can you find me a roommate?
Yes, we certainly can. If, however, we cannot find a roommate for you, there are single supplement charges.
