My first experience with diving came in 1971 while serving with the United States Navy in California. My roommate at the time was with the UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) and he asked if I would like to go diving. At 19 years of age and feeling invincible my only question was: "What do I need to know"? His answer: "Don't hold your breath". During our dive we encountered a 4' nurse shark. That was how I learned to walk on water. Besides, my roommate never told me the dangers of a fast accent. Things have changed for the better since then. After diving, on and off, with only Navy training I chose to officially certify through PADI in 1994. That was a real eye opener. Nothing replaces quality training. Diving is a passion with me. I have been diving in Palau twice, Yap, Honduras, Fiji, Bikini, Majuro, The Great Lakes and of course most of the local lakes and quarries. Currently I work with Underwater Connection as an Assistant Instructor and teach Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Digital Photography, Refreshers along with Discover Scuba. If you need Emergency First Responder Training I'm your man. I hold an instructor rating with EFR and spent 34 years as a Firefighter/EMT retiring as a Captain with the Menomonee Falls Fire Department. I also hold certifications with most major manufactures of regulators as a repair technician. When you dive with me plan on making a day of it. My grill is always open and I do cook a mean steak, if I do say-so myself. For the non-red meat eaters my chicken is pretty tasty also. Remember: Work is for those people that do not know how to dive.
